Performing Arts at the Market:
The Boise City Arts Commission, with funding support from Capital City Development Corporation, provides Performing Artists for the Capital City Public Market, held Saturdays in downtown Boise.

Performing Arts at the Market 2005 begins on April 16 and ends October 29, 2005. The purpose of this program is to expand opportunities for local performing artists, increase appreciation for the arts in daily life and bring more people downtown.

Applications are accepted each spring from professional or student artists in all performing arts disciplines and are reviewed by a professional panel. Applicants are evaluated and selected on the following criteria: artistic excellence, experience and performance design.

Each Saturday, three professional or student artists are scheduled to perform from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. All artists are paid and also encouraged to accept donations, sell their own CDs and have marketing materials available for their audiences.

Boisearts Booth:
Each Saturday the Boise City Arts Commission provides up-to-date information about local arts and culture at the Boisearts booth. This booth, located in the artisan area of the market, is a place where people can pick up season brochures and fliers for local arts groups, museums and performing arts facilities or inquire about what's going on in the arts this weekend. Also available at the booth is the Public Art map which offers a self-guided tour of Boise's public art collection.
