Kathy Morris has loved animals her entire life, including all of the dogs she has shared her life with. Most recently that is a miniature poodle named Gigi. She’s been pursuing her passion as a dog treat baker since 1996, and equally as impressive, she has been with the market since 1998, just four years after it first began.
Kathy is quite proud of her ability to be innovative and to solve product shortcomings. She’s been watching the poor quality of many dog toys on the market, and it has only inspired her to find one solution. Her FLIP dog toys are handmade, washable, chew resistant and are made to accommodate safe interactions with anyone who wants to play with their dog or cat indoors. She would like to sell more FLIPS, but knows that she has satisfied customers when they don’t have to come back so often for new ones. To solve the problem of tied on bandanas getting pulled off and lost, she developed Bandogos – the bandana that attaches to your dog’s collar.
Just like her toys and bandanas, her dog treats have passed the test of time. They are available in three sizes in order to maximize portion control while also providing excellent ingredients. They’re durable treats with a very low moisture content and can also be rehydrated for dogs with dental challenges. She’s certainly figured it out!
Kathy is also quite proud of her involvement in organizations focused on helping animals and matching people to their future loved ones. She’s been a supporter of Feed Frankie’s Friends and even boasts of having met the Frankie that inspired the event. She also supports See Spot Walk and the Inmate Dog Alliance Project of Idaho (IDAPI).
Kathy’s business is registered as Blue Dog Bakers, named for her first three dogs who were Blue Heelers. Her treats are trademarked under the name – Idabones. You can find her providing treats via home delivery every Saturday in the off season and at the Saturday market, which starts up again on April 16, 2016.
