#GivingTuesday is December 1, 2015

When buying a gift just doesn’t seem right, consider us for #GivingTuesday.

We will be applying donations toward the following programs:

1) Power of Produce Kids Club

This program is offered at the market to kids ages 5-12, and it gives them a chance to partake in age-appropriate education and hands-on activities related to growing and preparing food as well as the chance to explore new food varieties.

2) Fresh Fund Bucks

This program allows us to match dollar for dollar up to $10 for our customers who are low income and come to the market to use their EBT/SNAP (food stamps) benefits on fresh, local produce. Fresh Fund Bucks help our community stretch their food dollars further.

3) Food Forward

This program will be launched in 2016, and it helps us to better serve our low income and EBT/SNAP benefit users by providing education on using EBT/SNAP at the market as well as education on growing and preparing food. The program will also provide additional transportation to the market and additional monetary incentives which can be spent at the market.

Each of our big programs planned for 2016 support our local community and the youth and low income members in it who want to be an integral part of growing the local, sustainable, healthy food movement.

You can donate to the Capital City Public Market by mail at 802 W. Bannock Street Ste 800, Boise, ID 83702 or by contacting Melissa Nodzu at ccpmarket@gmail.com.
